In the past, HomeTech has carried many versions of analog and digital video recorders. While these units technically 'worked', it seemed like there was always some important feature missing or certain aspects of their performance was unacceptable. So we decided to stop carrying any DVRs and begin and exhaustive searchfor a usable product line. After more than a year and dozens of evaluations we are happy to announce that we finally found a unit that meets our demanding requirements!

We had many requirements this unit had to meet, but the most important was that the unit had to be programmable, and usable, over the internet or an internal network. We have seen many machines that have a network port, but theusability over the network (much less the internet) was inevitably either crippled (limited or no programmability), or so slow that it was essentially unusable.

When evaluating this unit, we did what many of our customers want to do with their DVR...we hooked it up, programmed the network connection, and closed thedoor to the shelf where the unit is hidden. We then programmed and used the unit without ever going back to the hiding place! We even cought video of two thefts behind our store!

These units aren't the cheapest ones around, but they arethe least expensive units we could find that will satisfy our demanding customers.

These adaptors split out the S-Video signal (s-video male connector) into two coaxial signals (two RCA female connectors). This can make it easier to run the S-video sitnal long distances.

Note: These adapters do not convert baseband NTSC video to S-Video, they simply "break out" the S-Video signal into its "Y" and "C" components so that it may be carried over less-expensive cables with RCA connectors.

This is a high performance, color-coded 14 and 16 gauge two and four conductor Monster Standard® speaker cable with a CL3 rating for custom in-wall installation.

In an HLC System the Powerline Interface Module (PIM) sends and receives UPB signals over the powerline. It comes with a cable for connecting the PIM to a serial port on an HAI automation controller.

A PIM is a required component of an HLC System.

The status light on the PIM gives diagnostic information, showing transmitted and received signals.

UPB may be added and will work with an existing X-10 based lighting system.

If your HAI automation controller is using all of its serial ports, HAI offers the HLC Expansion Kit (HAI Part Number 36A10-1) to add another serial port for the PIM to use.

The Model 36A05-2 PIM to PC Cable & Connector (purchased separately) is used to connect the PIM to a standard DB-9 serial port. The 36A05-2 can be used to connect the PIM to the HAI Model 10A17-1 Serial Interface Module for controlling UPB devices through an HAI controller, or to a PC for configuring UPB devices using the HAI UPB UPStart configuration software.

UPB™ is for single phase 120/240 VAC, 60 Hz systems. The HLC Phase Coupler mounts by the circuit breaker box and is used to connect the signal from L1 to L2 within the circuit breaker box.

A Phase Coupler is a strongly recommended component of an HLC System. Its use increases the reliability of the UPB™ signal.

The LED on the Phase Coupler shows that it is working.
